For our daughters

One day I spoke to my

Senior colleague 

He said with lots of pain,

"I am afraid, I have a daughter,

The world is not good to daughters…"

Afraid fathers! Afraid mothers!

Afraid women!

I want to shout that we are barbaric still;

The history being repeated in different forms,

Always zeroing down to the flesh of woman!

Every conflict and every war had 

Stories of silent and helpless sobs of women!

In the midst of this I remember a day…

When I realised of the human hearts

That still beat within the goodness of men,

Who still stand with women 

And stay as feminist:

As someone said,

Rajaram Mohan Roy is the greatest feminist ever,

Or Jesus who made the men leave their 

Stones and fled reading the letters written on sand…

That day, I was around eighteen,

Travelling in a bus, on the way to an exam,

The bus was packed, and me in the midst of men…

And a man in his middle age,

Stood behind me, which was beyond uncomfortable.

No space to move and no arguments to raise!

I was thinking of what to say, how to act,

Suddenly a movement was happening silently...

I had four young men covering me-

Protecting me, safe-guarding me...

I was relieved, and amazed.

The young men whom I have never met,

Whom I will probably will never meet,

Sensed my emotion and stood for me,

Silent but strong…

I salute the great men in my life,

I know they would stand with me

And shout loud for justice…

Let the histories never repeat.

Let's make a world for our daughters,

Safe and secure, as they deserve to have...

    There are great men here around, born of great parents..., to protect our little sis. And daughters And smash those idiots, if needed. Keep going...

    I accept the fact.
    Yes we need to rise up, I think the time to look back is gone. Let's make our daughters strong such that they hit back to those perverts......

    Nice to see the initiative to recognise the humane side of men; when the trend is to prtray them as flesh seeking vuktures. Feminism is just an form of kindness / consideration towards a fellow human; and is not reserved only to handful of self proclaimed fenisnists.

What you see is not what it is, It is much beyond. Behind the smoke There is a colourful bloom. At the moment it's smoke, It's anxiety and worry. Just take a moment and believe That the smoke is about to subside And die, The bloom is to be visible. Don't mistake that bloom Just appeared from no where. Angels and me

I went through my journey of seeking, I'm still seeking… I have transformed from that me to this. Not that my core changed, But, yes, my perspectives have changed. Somehow, I feel I was reinventing the child in me, Unlearning to see the magic of life! Still, being human we flaw. Then, trusted without seeing, May be I still do, But felt an urge, and I asked My guardian angels to show That they are there watching. I didn't know what I was to see. And yesterday, an intensely cold day, I travelled in winter clothes, Huge coat, my knit hat and woollen gloves. While in bus I kept all these extra clothes aside. As I was to disembark, I wore all those back. As I was getting out, I realised  I didn't wear gloves. I went back to my seat. No, it wasn't there. I checked my bag, my pockets, the coat, No!
