In waves
Life seems to be in waves,
After the lash of one
The falsehood of calmness
Reminds me of the next!
Still I strive being me,
And I watch the green grasses,
The distant homes
Lit in the darkness of night,
Like the lights on a Christmas tree.
The child in me
Still manages to giggle and smile.
Unaware of what 'people' think!
And deep within I know
That I have been to those mountains
And I have spoken to the ancestors
Of those grass blades and lillies…
Somehow I know, I belong there
Yes, to be belonged is the biggest
Fulfillment of life.
Belonged where disownment
Is absent in the equation!
Let the breeze in this wondrous daylight
Bring the fragrance of the past,
When long long ago, I had been here-
As Tagore said:
"I seem to have loved you in numberless forms,
numberless times…
In life after life,
in age after age,
forever."
When the waves come again-
I tell myself: 'you are a spiritual being
Having a human experience'
And somehow I find the strength to be here…
Where I belonged, may be forever.
